In the meantime...

Here's two Style.com videos - one for Paris, and the other for New York - to recap the Spring 2009 season.

Can't believe we will be covering Fall 2009 in a couple of weeks!

Resort Fashion 2009: Chanel Cruise 2008/9

Resort collections have come a long way from being small, capsule versions of Spring fashion to major defining forces of their own. This season, many designers are doing full-on runway presentations that can rival the major seasons or Haute Couture. The Fashionable Matilda's Diary has selected a few collections that's worth seeing.

First off is, mais bien sur, Channel's 2008 Cruise collection. This collection should be available in stores now.

New Year, New You: Notable Blogs

The start of 2009 marks one of the most turbulent times in terms of the economy. Savings are down, job supplies are little. It is a scary time. But if you are able to keep your job and your big paycheck, it is a fabulous time to enjoy those deep discounts retailers are now offering to get their fall inventories off the shelves. Gotta love the speediness of fashion cycles when Jan. is typically the time to introduce resort.

This year, one of the most informational, insightful blogs out there is the Madison Avenue Spy blog. The Fashionable Matilda is absolutely crazy about this little gem. Lila Delilah, the blog author, is a genius in terms of getting the intelligence for all the relevant designer sales in Manhattan. YSL 2nd mark-down? It's on there. Reporting live from the most recent DVF's sample sale? You'd find it in there. This blog is the equivalent of the Wall Street Journal -- for shopping.

So for those lucky ones who still have a job AND a decent-size disposable income, check out this blog and go crazy at the sales! We sure did here!
