Fashion Week Moves to Lincoln Center
It's official! Fashion Week will move out of its current Byrant Park location to the Upper West Side - to Lincoln Center, to be exact.
After years of chatter about disrupting precious community park space, New York City, along with IMG Seventh on Sixth and the Council of Fashion Designers America announced that starting Fall 2010, the new home of New York Fashion Week will be at Lincoln Center's Damosch Park - also home of the Big Apple Circus in the winter.
We must say, the choice is a much better location than a previous favorite - the roof top of Port Authority. It is said that Damosch Park is 25 percent bigger in terms of square footage than Byrant Park.
So enjoy your last two seasons in Midtown and your Koi lunches. Starting next year, the city's fashionistas have to find new places for lunch in between fashion shows.
